Bobcats seek $41.9 million to update arena
The Charlotte Bobcats are seeking upgrades to the Time Warner Cable Arena and have submitted a list of improvements to the city valued at $41.9 million. The arena is 8 1/2 years old and the franchise would like to have suite improvements, restaurant renovations and the moving of the ticket office. The Bobcats originally signed a 25 year lease which calls for the city to make improvements to the building to keep it among the most modern in the NBA, to ensure the team can “maintain economic competitiveness and revenue potential.”
